NAAM was an independent architecture and culture magazine co-founded and edited by Arshia Eghbali, published in English and Persian from 2014 to 2027 in Tehran.
Firmly loyal to its indie and DIY roots, NAAM was published in paper – in limited numbers – as well as online. NAAM considered different aspects of architecture, culture, design, craftsmanship, identity, geography, and society as parts of a coherent whole, and faced this complexity with a pragmatic, in-the-field, participatory approach, incorporating different perspectives from all over the world. In the course of four issues, NAAM collaborated with architects, writers, designers, and artists from over 15 countries, and tackled topics as diverse as rural development, indie game design, the role of architecture in fiction, and many more.
NAAM has won several awards as well as beeing featured in media, and has been exhibited at the Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design – Ark Des (2017) and the Tehran Architecture Biennial (2016).
